The International Symposium on Automotive Lighting – or ISAL for short – encourages the exchange between lighting engineers, road safety experts and regulative bodies.

ISAL offers the opportunity to present the most recent results of research and development to continue the established traditions of this conference to be able to promote a bright future for automotive lighting.

Held every two years since 1995, ISAL is organized and hosted by the Laboratory of Adaptive Lighting Systems and Visual Processing of the Technical University Darmstadt in the impressive and representative congress center darmstadtium.

The first symposium took place in 1995 in the “Kekulé” lecture room at the TU Darmstadt. Since then, more than two decades have elapsed, and the event's location has been changed to the immense and representative congress darmstadtium.

ISAL encourages the exchange between lighting engineers, road safety experts and regulative bodies. ISAL offers the opportunity to present the most recent results of research and development and promotes a bright future for automotive lighting.

ISAL 2025 tickets are personalised three-day, all inclusive tickets, valid Monday through Wednesday.

Regular (sales dates July 1 until August 31, 2025) 1.050,-€

Included in the ticket price are:
  • the exhibition
  • all presentations
  • proceedings as a PDF file
  • Get Together on Monday evening
  • lunch and dinner on Tuesday
  • lunch on Wednesday
  • all day coffee, tea and water
  • snacks

Not included in the ticket price are hotel accommodations, parking and, if applicable, meeting rooms.

This year, tickets are sold through fourwaves, an academic conference and event management software. Payment is processed via STRIPE/Credit Card.

Tickets for the event can only be purchased in advance. Tickets will not be sold at the event.

Tickets to ISAL 2025 are final and non-refundable. Contact us, if you are unable to attend.

ISAL hosts one of the largest and most dynamic international exhibitions focused on automotive lighting bringing together scientists, technologists, and key players. Leading companies in automotive lighting showcase their latest products, hardware and software solutions to a broad audience of more than 1000 visitors.

Car Exhibition (CE) spaces to present new innovations live on cars are only available outside on the plaza in front of the darmstadtium.

Prices and availability for all exhibition areas available upon request.

Bookings begin in Autumn 2024.

We all understand the value of personal meetings. Visitors and exhibitors of ISAL can book meeting rooms to conduct meetings during ISAL operating hours. Entry into the meeting rooms is only permitted to visitors holding valid ISAL tickets (sold separately).

All meeting rooms come with an obligatory multimedia package. Beverage packages are available upon request.

Food is not permitted in the meeting rooms.

Prices and availability for meeting rooms are available upon request.

Please note: Meeting rooms booked on location during ISAL are subject to a 15% surcharge.
